MINISTRY DURING COVID-19
Health and Safety -
We are committed to everyone's safety. To that end, we will practice the "Big Three":
Wash Hands - when you check in, someone will greet you with hand sanitizer so you can wash your hands.
Social Distance - please stay 6 feet apart from other people not in your household. This includes both talking to people before and after the service and also keeping 3-4 chairs between you and the person/family next to you. We will also section off every-other-row to ensure distance before and behind you.
Wear Masks - this is not required but strongly encouraged. When we talk together, and especially when we sing, we run the danger of spreading the virus to others if we don't wear masks. We are aware some may have difficulty with masks. Please use your best judgement and be considerate of others.
We will check each person in when you come on campus, take your temperature, and give you a piece of paper. The paper is a simple tool to help us clean. When you sit down to worship, put the paper under your seat. When you leave, put the paper on your seat. This will let us know which seats to clean (vs. cleaning all the seats). Finally, the council recently approved a NLC COVID-19 Prevention Policy To read this, please click (HERE). In addition to this, we also have a companion NLCCS COVID-19 School Policy. to read this, please click (HERE).
Worship Adjustments -
Next, our worship will look a little different. To ensure safety, we will not have some of the normal elements we would expect on a Sunday morning - no food/drinks, no welcome/greeting time, no passing the offering plate (the offering plates will be in the back of the sanctuary for us to put our tithes and offerings in after the service). Our children will meet together on the playground and then proceed to either room 307 or the Fellowship Hall depending on how many children we have. Also, for now we will not be using the nursery or the youth room so as to avoid closed spaces. Please know we are monitoring this situation and as things get safer and return to "normal" we will also return to many of our regular Sunday worship elements.
Tithes and Offerings -
With a return to in-person worship services, we will also have opportunity to give in person. Please consider how you can give. Our overall giving during the shut down was very low. For those of you who choose to delay in-person worship, we would like to remind you of other means of giving God your offerings;
